What to bring to the review
- Application, load profile, installation space and charging arrangement
- Contracting company, actual production site and participating partners
- Proposed cell, pack, BMS, charger and host revisions
- Required sample evidence and unresolved engineering questions
- Prototype quantities, production forecast and decision dates
Define the work before comparing factories
Pack assembly and cell manufacturing are different activities. Ask which operations happen at the proposed site and which use partners. Record who owns each interface and what must be delivered; an equipment photograph alone does not establish that responsibility.
- Cells and pack: selection, configuration, mechanical definition and assembly owner.
- Electronics: protection/BMS, charging management and the boundary with the host controller.
- Integration: for a coffee machine, identify responsibility for heater, pump and main-board interaction where included in scope.
Build an eight-field evidence review
Use one row for each responsibility. Record the deliverable, responsible company, exact revision, evidence identifier, acceptance criterion, reviewer, decision date and open issue. Mark an item accepted, open or outside scope. A sample demonstration cannot close unrelated items without supporting records.
Match documentation to the proposed battery
For lithium battery transport documentation, PHMSA describes a test summary containing manufacturer and laboratory details, a report identifier and date, battery identification and test results. Match the supplied summary to the proposed model. This document does not establish your appliance's runtime or complete product qualification.
Use separate sample and production gates
A prototype decision authorizes the agreed sample work. A production decision needs the accepted design baseline and the evidence required for that release. Keep the pack, host and charger revisions alongside the observed results and unresolved items.
- Before samples: agree the brief, outputs, evaluation conditions and who reviews them.
- Before production: close required findings and approve the component definition, inspection criteria and interfaces.
- After release: require review of proposed cell or component substitutions and record any renewed evaluation.
Compare the complete project cost
NIST discusses total cost of ownership as part of supplier selection. Compare quotations against the same scope: engineering fees, tooling where needed, sample and production quantities, evaluation, packaging and delivery terms. Ask which items are included and how changes or defects are handled; this guide sets no universal MOQ, price or lead time.
Apply the review to a Jinfan project
Jinfan has its own PACK production line and collaborates with partners on BMS/protection boards, charging management and coffee-machine integration. Use the same responsibility and evidence review when discussing a project with us. Confirm the actual production site, deliverables and available records for your configuration before making an order decision.
